A dream about Love

On Feb 14, valentines day, I had a dream about Love. Sorry it took me a couple of days to post it!

The day before, I was thinking about focusing on Gods love for valentines and sharing something about it, especially for those that are alone or feel unloved on valentines day. I prayed for a dream too and I got a dream. Before the dream I woke up at 3.14 am. I know God was pointing out John 3.14…14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15  that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18  He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

You’ll see this scripture has meaning related to the dream…

Dream: I was at a community centre/ church with my children and we were just hanging out, talking with the community workers there and helping out. It was a borrowed space. The church that owned the building let us use it. There was a lot of love and compassion as we were helping the less fortunate and telling them about Jesus. I felt God’s presence there, His love. We prayed for people and they got healed and we gave them food and kindness. The place actually glowed with warm light. I felt Jesus walking through the place and the angels. The workers were so easy going, I felt at home, and I ended up putting on a load of washing there from home, so I could stay longer. I felt some anticipation like God was going to show up soon. Day turned to night and the stars came out, I had lost track of time. I was the last one there and everyone had gone home. The church members that owned the building started showing up for a church service. They were very rude and told me I had to leave. One woman from the church was more kind and said, “do you want to stay, for the passover service?” I said “passover?! Is it passover already??” I thought it was another week away at least. She said “it sure is, would you like to join us?” I said “no thank you”, because I knew this was a church without the love of God and I went to head home to celebrate passover, but first I went to get my laundry out of the machine. The laundry basket broke and it was very difficult getting it to the washing line. People were looking at me, judging me, telling me to hurry up. They didn’t offer any help. I got half of it hung up, then this woman who seemed to be in charge, came out and said “all this has to go. Take it with you and leave”, pointing at my washing. I said “but some of it is the church towels”. Then I had to sort it and put their towels back in the machine and mine in the broken basket. Then I realised the basket belonged to them and I couldn’t take it to carry my washing. I ended up stressed and in tears. It was impossible to do it on my own and no one would help. End of dream.

My interpretation: I think this dream shows the stark contrast between the love amongst Gods true people and the lack of love amongst those who aren’t but pretend to be.The laundry is something that has come up in my dreams before and relates to this scripture:

Ephesians 5:26-27: 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her [the church] with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

I was doing just fine washing my laundry with the loving workers there and in Gods presence. We can’t wash away our sins without Jesus! The judgemental people only made it harder. The broken basket represents the broken churches that we have today. The ones that aren’t really helping anyone but making their life worse by judging them and blaming them. It is not the true love of God, who is merciful, compassionate and generous. There is a huge problem in the church today of blaming the unfortunate for their situation and not helping. The lack of love is vast. Anyone without love for others is not a true follower of Christ.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. – John 13.35

Passover is when Jesus died for our sins. It is also a possible rapture date. My dream might have been indicating rapture with night time and passover coming sooner than I thought and the loving church workers going home. The unloving church members may have been the left behind. This is something I will be praying about and you can take it to the Lord. Please let me know your thoughts, thank you. God bless!

  1. Dear Sister in Christ,

I have come to very much look forward to reading your posts. I am glad that you wrote, “Anyone without love for others is not a true follower of Christ.” I have been in some conversations recently where it was said that a person just needs to “believe” and then it doesn’t matter if they change or not. I replied saying how John says that people who truly know Christ will have love for others. I can hear your love for Christ and for others in your writing.

Our God is good and faithful and kind! Thank you for continuing to share your thoughts and your dreams!
